Aerial Chains Workshops
Ready to try a truly sensational aerial apparatus?
Aerial chains workshops introduce aerialists to aerial chains double loops. In these two workshops chains are rigged as two loops from a single point (double loops), opening up many choreographic possibilites.
Solo Choreography workshop focuses on a single dancer using both loops. Students will work on double loop shapes and transitions to connect skills smoothly. Choreography covered will include modifications and more advanced variations to expand for all levels. We focus on the unique properties of chains and how to adjust and modify shapes from softer apparatus onto the chains.
Saturday May 10th 1 - 2:15 pm
Duo Choreography workshop focuses on duo/partner work with chains loops. Students will work with a partner learning various shapes and spins supported by the loops. Mirroring, Anti-mirroring, and base-flyer skills will be included in our choreographic explorations. No partner needed to sign up, but expect to work with other students in this workshop.
Saturday May 10th 2:30 - 3:45 pm

Other Information:
Students should have some aerial experience and be able to comfortably get into a back straddle from the ground in a loop/sling. Chains cause bruises, tiny pinches (chain bites), and can also poke/rip clothing. Please wear layers and avoid any easily bent metal bits on clothing. Some prefer climbing gloves-this is not required but an option.
$35/workshop or $60/both workshops

Workshops will be held east side of Madison, WI outdoors if weather permits, or moved indoors to Madison Circus Space as needed.
